Biography:
Flautist, vocalist, kazooist and composer Laura Sue, the Silver Nightingale is renowned for her angelic solo flute music, and spirited ensembles like The Quiet Villagers, Silver Nightingale and the Starlings, Orquestra Nightingale and Laura and the Legwarmers. She's performed at exotic venues from San Francisco to Woodstock to Glastonbury, and has opened for Marianne Williamson, Deepak Chopra and Judy Collins.

Laura Sue's debut CD, "Sarabande - Solo Flute Meditations", has been heard on radio stations from coast to coast, and hand-carried by fans to Sarajevo, Provence and other spots around the globe. Laura Sue's music expresses her love and respect for cultures and traditions from around the world, and she's studied with venerable teachers including Grammy-winning Brazilian reed player Paulo Moura, African drum patriarch Olatunji, and vocal icon Bobby McFerrin.

Laura Sue feels a special calling to play for people at the end of life and facing life-challenging illness, as well as those grieving the loss of dear ones. To that end, she's played bedside in homes and hospitals, at memorial services, educational and fundraising events for hospices around Florida for over a decade. Laura Sue founded an ongoing Hospice Music Program in 2003 at North Broward Medical Center, and became a music practitioner at Holy Cross Hospital in 2006, playing for patients and special events throughout the hospital. Her recordings are widely used by teachers, hospice workers, nurses, yoga instructors, massage therapists and others to enhance their professional and personal lives.

Laura Sue is active with community groups involved in interfaith, cultural, environmental and veterans initiatives, and is a member of VisionBROWARD's Creative Industries Task Force. A respected music journalist, Laura Sue has been a columnist for City Link and Heat Beat among many other publications, and Engineer/Music Director/Producer for radio show InnerViews among other radio and TV shows.
