Biography:
Pavel Vinnitsky, clarinetist, has been a guest artist with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, American Symphony, Brooklyn Philharmonic, American Ballet Theatre (ABT), Opera Orchestra of New York, Albany Symphony and New Haven Symphony orchestras among others. He has also appeared with a large number of chamber music groups including the Wind Soloists of New York, International Contemporary Ensemble, Sylvan Winds, the Quintet of Americas, Azure Ensemble, So Percussion and Wall Street Chamber Players. As a klezmer music performer Mr. Vinnitsky appeared at some of the world major music festivals and venues including Vienna Jewish Music Festival, Furth International Klezmer Festival (Germany), Ra'anana and Zfat Klezmer festivals in Israel and was featured as a klezmer clarinet and bass clarinet soloist with the Bachanalia String Orchestra of New York in a concert dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the state of Israel at Merkin Concert Hall in New York City. His recording credits include recent releases on the New World and Bridge Records labels, numerous broadcasts on Bavarian Radio, WQXR, Israeli National TV and Radio as well as an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman on CBS and the soundtrack recording for the 2009 motion picture "Where The Wild Things Are". Mr. Vinnitsky holds degrees in clarinet performance from Tel-Aviv University and Yale University School of Music. His principal clarinet teachers were Richard Lesser, Steve Hartman and David Shifrin. Mr Vinnitsky resides in New York City with his wife Anna Vinnitsky, pianist, their son Daniel and their dog Eden
