Jon Williams, a maestro on the violin and piano, has a unique style that blends classical with jazz as well as traditional Jamaican mento and reggae sounds to create captivating rhythms and melodies. His audiences arund the world are mesmerized by his genius and he has shared the stage with, among others, Wynton, Brandford and Tess Marsalis, Bobby Hutcherson, Randy Weston, Cece Winans, Sandi Patti, Ron Kenoly, Helen Baylor, and Denise Williams. At the age of four and without formal instruction, he showed the early signs of a prodigy. His parents sought and commissioned the best formal tutoring to be had and in the process learned that he was equally gifted on both the violin and piano. By the age of ten, he had won gold and silver medals for performances at national festivals and other competitons. While in high school, he gained distinctions in piano and violin. At 17, he was granted a scholarship from a field of Caribbean applicants to continue his studies at the Royal College of Music, London. Jon also uses his skills to develop the talents of others as he arranges and produces several local artistes.
