Biography:
writing songs since she was 4 years old. Her voice is phenomenal. Her lyrics are remarkable and uplifting. Her creativity began to spark as she wrote poetry, studied dance, and played music. She is from a family of professional musicians. When she experienced her first professional recording session at the age of 9, she was ready to take on the music world.
Her roots began in the church. Her father insisted that she not only sing but also play piano. It paid off. This led her to singing and appearing with recording acts such as Donnie McClurkin, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, The Clark Sisters, Lisa Fischer, JT Taylor, Kenny Loggins, Marvin Winans, and Michel Camilo. It was clear that her unique voice and talent was phenomenal when the producers referred to her as the big voice trapped in a tiny body. She went on to become a finalist on Hal Jackson’s Talented Teens.
Angela is not just a pretty face. She was a student of chemistry, voice, and theatre at Spelman College. She is smart and extremely talented. Angela Shella’s debut album, Prettysongs, contains 14 tracks co-written and co-produced by Angela Shella. Her songs reflect the soulful sounds of R& B, the sincere joy of gospel, and the smooth emotion of sophisticated jazz. Angela says, “It’s all about being positive. My music portrays the experience of my life; the good and the bad, the struggle and the triumph, the love and the inspiration, the God and the people we cherish so dearly.”
While Prettysongs has just currently been released, Angela is working on her second album of soul and love.
