Biography:
Justin W. Hillman is a blossoming young songwriter who hails from the orchards of Berkshire County in Western Massachusetts.

A prolific songsmith, he draws from his deep family roots in traditional folk music. Justin's etherial guitar work supports his smokey voice as he delivers modern and introspective lyrics, wise beyond his years.

In 2008 'As the Sun Meets the Moon' was released on his home grown label, First Mark Music. He wrote and recorded this DIY debut between the ages of 15-19, but no great feat is achieved without the guidance of greater teachers:

"Well respected pianist and producer, Mark Kelso, mentored me in music production at his Muddy Angel Music & Arts in my hometown of Richmond, MA. Not only did I learn my way around the recording studio, but I learned the healing power of music, for which I will be forever grateful.

Former guitarist for Arlo Guthrie & Shenandoah, David Grover, guided me across the fretboard, unlocking the intricacies of the acoustic guitar. His teachings continue to challenge me in beautiful and unexpected ways.

My one true desire is not to earn reverence through performance, but to share, by example, the fulfillment of deep self-discovery that awaits us all.

I hope to guide my listeners to explore the wilderness of the heart, where they may find their personal door to inner peace."

Today, Justin has traded the apple trees for the city lights, as he is now a full time resident of New York City, where his journey continues to unfold.
