Tatiana Goncharova, piano

An inspiring soloist and ensemble partner, Russian-born pianist Tatiana Goncharova has performed throughout the United States, South America, Europe and Asia. The same “brilliant playing” that she brings to her musical partnership with Pinchas Zukerman, with whom she tours, she brings to her solo performances as well as to TAGI, the quartet she recently helped found. Praised by the Philadelphia Inquirer for her “exceptional musicianship,” Ms. Goncharova has appeared at such prestigious venues as Avery Fisher Hall, the Kravis Center, the Kimmel Center, Ravinia and Caramoor. Her performances include national broadcasts on PBS and NPR, including Performance Today, as well as broadcasts in Japan, on Radio France and on New York's WNYC and WQXR.

Frequent collaborations with international artists have taken Ms. Goncharova to such renowned venues as the Aspen Music Festival, Japan’s Miyazaki Music Festival, Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center, Colden Center for the Arts, Great Composers Festival in Canada and Montpellier Music Festival in France. In May 2003, Ms. Goncharova performed in recital with Mr. Zukerman in Tokyo for the Empress of Japan.

A founding member of the New York Lyric Chamber Players, now known as TAGI, highlights of the group’s recent seasons include performances and master classes at Asheville Chamber Series, University of South Carolina, Western Carolina University, Sevenars, Bentley College, Howland Music Center, Emelin Theater, Lukas Foss’s Festival of the Hamptons and the Lyric Chamber Music Society.

Formerly on the faculties of the Perlman Music Program, Fordham University and Illona Feher Festival in Israel, Ms. Goncharova is a faculty member of Pinchas Zukerman’s National Arts Center Young Artists Program in Canada as well as the preparatory division of the Manhattan School of Music in New York, Zukerman Performance Program. She is also involved with a number of educational projects through her affiliation with Astral Artistic Services and the Piatigorsky Foundation, which allows her to perform classical music in less traditional settings.

Ms. Goncharova is a winner of numerous prizes and awards including the Olga Koussevitzky Piano Competition, Bergen Philharmonic Concerto Competition, Moscow Conservatory Concerto Competition and Byelorussian National Competition. She has studied with such renowned musicians as Leon Fleisher, Yoheved Kaplinsky, Eugene Malinin and Oxana Yablonskaya at the Moscow State Conservatory, the Manhattan School of Music and The Juilliard School.

Tatiana Goncharova’s debut recording with violinist Grigory Kalinovsky, featuring the Shostakovich Violin Sonata and 24 Preludes, was recently released on Centaur Records worldwide where it has received great critical acclaim.

Highlights of Ms. Goncharova’s recent seasons include a concert with Mr. Zukerman in Taiwan, performances with Chamber Players International, appearances on the Newport Music Festival, Bar Harbor Music Festival and Ridotto Series, and recital tours of Brazil, Uruguay, Peru and Spain.
