Biography:
I'm a musician, have been since I heard Neil Young's Harvest and picked up a friend's guitar. I am a singer and song writer. I've been writing since I was 15 old. I had an experience the other day which proves that art really does enliven the spirit and is necessary to quality of life. I was cut off in traffic, honked at while on my bike, twice, and then I saw a wildly hand painted painted blue van with two young people in it, a guy driving, and the passenger, a woman, who had her feet sticking out of her window. I laughed and just loved the art which totally cheered me up. Being an artist to me is a sacred thing and I treasure every second that I have to compose. I love it more than anything. I love it so much I resent not being able to write all the time. I would love to work at meaningful work, I can no longer justify having to pay my bills doing energy and soul sucking work. I have to figure out how to support my music now, it's too important and time is ticking and I must live my dream, not because it's my ego talking, but because it's actually necessary for my little contribution to world peace. It's always been my dream, since I was six. I was lucky enough to make friends with Townes Van Zandt, who was willing to make friends with everyone. That's the kind of mentor he was. But he taught me a lot about songs and muse and respect for your work. Everybody loved him. Great songwriter and tender soul.
