The Dance Theatre Aglaja creates a place for young people to deploy their artistic talents, to develop their capabilities and to experience the joy of dance. This amateur art group presents a very special art form - probably unique in the world - a full length evening program with pieces taken from the canon of light classical music.
50 boys and girls - students - recompose and portray music with flags and drapes. With enthusiasm and discipline the company shows a humane equilibrium of head, hand and heart. Aglaja dances a message of joy that, in spite of contemporary materialism and growing apathy, values ideals that uplift humanity.
The dancers don't want to keep to themselves the aesthetic values they experience. Gesture by gesture they reach out to you and make you dream of becoming more than what you were.
