Biography: Russell Steinberg, Ph.D., is a composer, performer, and music lecturer. His first symphony was premiered in New York by the Westchester Symphony and in Baltimore with the Hopkins Symphony. Steinberg conducts the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra, which appears in Walt Disney Concert Hall, November 11, 2007. He also is a popular speaker for the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Upbeat Live pre-concert series, as well as a lecturer at UCLA. His recordings include the recently released Flute Sonata, on Centaur Records, performed by Michelle Stanley; Desert Stars:Solo Works for Guitar and Piano by Russell Steinberg, on Blown To Bits, performed by Russell Steinberg; and Stories From My Favorite Planet, published by the Daniel Pearl Foundation, performed by Mitchell Newman, Russell Steinberg, and Josh Coxx.
