Parker’s Tangent

Contact: Arthur [203] 407-8225

Parker’s Tangent, based out of greater New Haven, CT plays blues and roots based original art rock. The music can be poetic, quiet and touching to bluesy to out and out rocking. This is a professional group that has a lot of fun performing and that fun is picked up by the audience. The band’s lineup is comprised of a female lead singer whose wonderful, warm sultry voice has been compared to Grace Slick and Nora Jones, drums [also female] rhythm and lead guitar, bass, and violin!
This is a professional all-star group with each of the musicians having many, many years of experience in other local bands. While the group plays primarily electric they are able to perform acoustically [“unplugged”] as well. The music is original and therefore there are no BMI/ASCAP issues.
The music is extremely accessible and can be enjoyed by people of virtually all ages. Parker’s Tangent has played the main stage of the New Haven green, Toads Place, The International Festival of Arts and Ideas, The New Haven Road Race [to over 6,400 people], The Milford Fine Arts Council Performance Coffeehouse, Lyric Hall, May Day celebration, Rock to Rock celebration, Café 9, The Madison Arts Barn, Stella Blues, The Mansion, The Space, The Outer Space, Two Boots, Martini’s, The Cotton Gin, Books and Company, Blues Brick Oven Pizza, The Neverending Bookstore, Annie Liffey’s, Daniel Street Club, The Buttonwood Tree, The Corner Pocket, The Kasbah Garden Café, The New England Brewery, The Warehouse [New Haven] The Gathering of the Elements, Spinstock, Art attack, The Puppet House, The Farmer’s Market, La Boca, The New Haven Free Public Library, The Milford Public Library, The James Blackstone Memorial Library and Cultural Center, Arcadia Café, The Ideat Village Festival, Mandatory Feedback on WNHU, Citizen’s Television, The Huntington Street Café, Higher Grounds, 70 Main Street, The Funky Monkey, C J Sparrow, The Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club, Saint Rose of Lima Church,, United Church on the Green, The Mary Taylor Church Craft Fair, The New England Arts and Craft Festival, The Garlic and Harvest Festival, Rock to Rock: New Haven Music Festival, The Sounds of Summer Music Festival, The Second Annual Sounds of Summer Festival, The Oyster Festival and other venues through out Connecticut including private parties and selected charity events.
