Biography: He merges country, pop & rock elements into a sharp contemporary sound. Add in some soothing vocals and that is what you get when you listen to Chris Dagnese. He may just be a boy from Boston but don't let that fool you in his ability to sing, write and relate with country music. He prefers campfires & guitars on a starry night over the city any day of the week. Chris grew up listening to songwri...ting greats such as The Allman Brothers Band, Eagles, John Mellencamp, Bob Segar, James Taylor, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac & Tom Petty. After years of creative expansion & searching for an identity in the music industry Dagnese has found similarities & comfort in the styles of such artists as Sugarland, Eli Young Band, Taylor Swift, The Band Perry, Thompson Square, Brantley Gilbert, Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum & Hunter Hayes. He also admits growing up idolizing front men like Steven Tyler & Jim Morrison. Chris sites his first concert as pivotal in his understanding of what makes a great front man. "My mother is a huge Rod Stewart fan, and when I was 8 years old she took me to see him perform. I remember being blown away at the amount of women that were there and the effect Rod had on them. My mom went from being my mom to a young teenage girl screaming at the stage. As I got older and looked back on that time I began to realize not only the importance of quality songwriting and vocals but also the importance of being a great front man." Chris writes songs about Love, Loss, Faith, Forgiveness, Gratitude, Reflection and Hope as well as just living life and having a good time doing it.
Dagnese on the topic of songwriting - "Writing songs about things in my life that fall heavy on my heart is a good way of helping me make sense of it all. It allows me to learn about myself and create something beautiful out of an otherwise difficult situation. It has always moved me to know that people spend their hard earned money and free time to come see me perform and forget about life for a while. I kind of have a motto to support this. "Avoiding The Real World Through Music One Song At A Time.” I take great pleasure in being on the side of the stage with the few and not the many and feel it my obligation to write quality songs that people can relate with." Stay tuned for the release of Chris Dagnese's debut country EP "Favorite Things" do out October 2012.
