Denise Marsa, originally born in Trenton, New Jersey, has been writing, singing and producing her own award-winning music for decades. In the spring of 2016 she formed a publishing alliance with BMG US. Previously her songs have been published worldwide by Warner Brothers Music, UK and Warner/Chappell Music, US.
She started performing in musical theater as a young girl and studied theater and fine arts at the University of Arizona. After college she moved to NYC where she started getting attention from the music industry and fans alike.
In 1978 Marsa teamed up with Dean Friedman and recorded a duet, “Lucky Stars.” “Lucky Stars” reached #3 in the UK, Scotland and #1 in Australia. They toured the UK and Scotland and performed live on top TV shows. Marsa was also the lead voice on the international dance record “Helpless (You Took My Love”) one of The Flirts biggest hits.
Today she operates KeyMedia Group, KeyMedia Public Relations and Denise Marsa Productions. She also mentors young artists. She has self released her two solo albums SELF and LIVE FOREVER. The track STEADY from LIVE FOREVER won the 2013 Best Adult Contemporary Recording at the New Mexico Music Awards. That same year Marsa was a judge for Morristown’s Got Talent event at The Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, New Jersey. Marsa is currently working on a one woman show journaling her career and life entitled THE PASS. Theater legend Gretchen Cryer is coaching and directing the piece scheduled for a spring 2017 first reading.
