Biography:
Úlfur is a rare mystical creature from the heart of Reykjavík. Having played in various bands including Swords of Chaos and as Jónsi’s touring bass player, Úlfur is standing on his own two feet creating other worldly soundscapes to take your breath away.

With influences ranging from cult cinema, esoteric literature and contemporary music, Úlfur has a unique twist on the supernatural.

Having recently signed with the Western Vinyl label (Dirty Projectors, Here We Go Magic) Úlfur is sitting pretty to take his music to the global stage.

His debut album White Mountain is being primed for release early 2013 and encompasses vast, layered and haunting music which has the capacity to transport and intrigue any avid listener.

Playing live, Úlfur can range from a three piece to a staggering 10 to 12 person cacophony of woodwind and brass. Expect the unexpected.

LIVE REVIEW :
“Once upon a time, the firm calm of sonowolf gaze. Úlfur may be the next beast to explode from birch undergrowth with a gnash of belief. Foregrounding fairy-tale twinkle and crusade, the expansive breath of Úlfur’s instrumentation — from processed guitar to plaintive clarinet — curves growl around a warming glow of space. Their intimate opening proved so electrifying that the light-mains zilched. This is Atmospheric Power at its finest.”
- A. Rawlings for The Reykjavík Grapevine
