Biography:
Multi-instrumentalist and composer, Alicia Jo Rabins, with bassist Aaron Hartman, fuses American folk music and underground rock with stories of biblical women. Rabins is a classically trained violinist, poet, composer, performer, and Torah scholar, who recently premiered her ogirinal chamber rock opera, "A Kaddish for Bernie Madoff," about the spiritual implications of the financial collapse, in NYC. The second album in the ongoing art-rock song cycle by "Girls in Trouble" about the complicated lives of women in Torah, has just been released on JDub Records.
