Biography:
Scorchio is an avant/progressive/cutting edge electro-acoustic string quartet that made itís debut in 2001 in Carnegie Hall at the Tibet House Benefit Concert performing with David Bowie. They have since established themselves as the "go to" string ensemble for major artists and continue to be the "house quartet" for the Tibet House Benefit Concerts produced by Philip Glass.

They work with many prominent artists including Philip Glass, Trey Anastasio, Iggy Pop, Patti Smith, Michael Stipe, Lou Reed, Vampire Weekend, Regina Spektor, Gogol Bordello, Linda Thompson, David Byrne, Ziggy Marley, Rufus Wainwright, and the Kronos Quartet, among others.

Scorchio has premiered works by all genres of composers including Tony Visconti, Joel Thome, Anthony Cornicello and Martha Mooke. They are featured in the award winning documentary "Inside the Perfect Circle: The Odyssey of Joel Thome".
