Biography:
Headed by Fulbright alumnus, Khaled Saleh, the Awtar Quartet is an Egyptian string ensemble that plays a diverse repertoire, including Arabic, Western Classical and American music. The quartet’s members play in many prominent ensembles in Cairo, including the Cairo Symphony Orchestra at the Cairo Opera House and Sakia Strings at the Sakia Culture Wheel. The head of the quartet, Khaled Saleh, earned a master’s degree in music at Indiana University during his Fulbright Fellowship (2009-2011).
