Jacqueline Leung (piano) is one of the most active pianists in Hong Kong. Described as a player who possesses ‘musicality, intelligence and technical finesse’, recent engagements have taken her to festivals, concerto premieres and recitals in South and Central America, the USA and Thailand in the past year. As a seasoned performer, she has collaborated with some of the world’s distinguished musicians including Robert Aitken, Andras Adorjan and Trey Lee. Over the years, her performances and interviews have been heard in venues across the globe and broadcast on TV and Radio in Colombia, Costa Rica, Hungary and Hong Kong.
In 2012, Jacqueline was invited to perform at the Bogota International Piano Festival, the ‘Oscar Buenaventura’ International Piano Festival and the Costa Rica International Piano Season as guest artist. She has also lectured and taught masterclasses at the Conservatorio del Tolima, University Juan N. Corpas and ABAC University of Thailand. Recently, she served as a jury member at the 2nd Thailand International Mozart Competition.
Jacqueline has received numerous awards, including two consecutive Vicars Close prizes from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools for Music and a “highly commended” honour in both the Helen Eames Piano Prize and Christian Carpenter Recital Prize. As prize winner of a concerto competition, she performed under the baton of Christopher Adey, one of Britain’s most renowned orchestral trainers at Wells Cathedral, UK. Along with being a solo pianist, she is an active chamber musician and has appeared at the Royal Northern College of Music’s Beethoven Fest, the MacMillan Cancer Fund Charity Concert, and a fundraising event sponsored by the Prince of Wales.
