This self-described "Eastern European folk-punk band" was founded in 2000 by singer, writer, linguist, pianist and accordionist, Anne Ezekiel Kogan. Since then, this Brooklyn-Based sextet (Kogan, vocalist Aaron Diskin, violinist Jeremy Brown, Trombonist Curtis Hasselbring, Bassist Taylor Bergren-Chrisman, and drummer Tim Monaghan) has become a leading re-interpreter and innovator of klezmer music, pushing tradition forward into the 21st century. Performing nationally and internationally in clubs and music festivals, their fourth CD, "Tanz," was released in May 2014 on the Mexican label Corason Digital to great acclaim. The band is known for its virtuosic musicianship, theatricality, boundless energy, and humor.
