Elsie Parker & The Poor People of Paris present a concert honoring the 100th anniversary of the birth of legendary French singer Edith Piaf. Musical selections will vary from the familiar and charming “La vie en rose” and “Milord” to Piaf’s austere and rare “Quand même” to smoldering ” “Mon Légionnaire” and triumphant “Non, je ne regrette rien.” Songs will be sung in French by Elsie Parker, who provides an English synopsis of each song and highlights of Piaf’s remarkable life. Known for her performances and love of Piaf’s songs, Elsie Parker will be accompanied by her group, The Poor People of Paris, which includes Ken Kehner-piano, William Lenihan-guitar/accordion, Wayne Coniglio-bass and Kevin Gianino-drums.
This concert is supported by generous financial sponsorship of
Jane and Bruce Robert, and is partnered by Les amis.
Also participating are Centre francophone at Webster University and Alliance Française de Saint Louis.
