Eli Yamin, (piano, voice) is Artistic Director of The Jazz Drama Program and Director of Jazz At Lincoln Centers Middle School Jazz Academy. He is a jazz pianist, composer, educator, broadcaster, bandleader and Steinway artist. He has performed at top concert halls and festivals in the United States, India, China, Mali, Japan and throughout Europe. Eli teaches jazz to business leaders, middle school students, music teachers and college professors. He is a consultant for The Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad, produced with the U.S. State Department, the National Endowment for the Arts, Fordham University Graduate School of Business and WBGO Radio. Elis longtime interest in India has inspired several original compositions including Reincarnation 1968 from the Solar CD, Suns of Cosmic Consciousness dubbed Ebullient! by Time Out New York. Eli has played, recorded and taught with Barry Harris, Wynton Marsalis, Illinois Jacquet, Walter Perkins, Perry Robinson, Mercedes Ellington and Kate McGarry. Eli holds a Master's Degree in Music Education from Lehman College, City University of New York and has appeared on CBS Saturday Morning, PBS, Fox News and National Public Radio.
Ari Roland, (bass) having studied at The Juilliard School, has worked with many of the most recognized and influential names in jazz, including Wynton Marsalis, Betty Carter, Harry Connick Jr., Barry Harris, and Lou Donaldson. In the last 12 months he has completed five American Music Abroad tours for The US State Department, with programs in West Africa, Eastern Europe, The Balkans, The Middle East, Russia, Central Asia, India, and China.
Stefan Schatz (drummer) was born in New York City. Trained early on as a classical percussionist, Stefan went on to study jazz at the New School in New York. Since graduating in 1995, Stefan has worked with many legendary artists including Dakota Staton, Jon Hendricks, Milt Hinton, Roy Hargrove and Ray Bryant. Stefan has toured worldwide with the Mark Morris Dance Group and played on Broadway in Bombay Dreams. He has been a cultural ambassador on tours to Russia, Central Asia, the Middle East and the Balkans and made his debut at the world-famous Village Vanguard in New York City with Teddy Charles in the Spring of 2008.
