IY play what’s left of pop music. They found it battered in a ditch one night, beaten by boy bands, nervous record-company executives, and auto-tuned lyrics about nothing. It told them that once upon a time music was performed instead of sequenced, that it made people smile and frown at the same time and dance and think at once.
They don’t know whether there was any truth to this, but it sounded right. Why not try?
So IY play what’s left of pop music--just don’t tell anyone unless you want IY to end up in a ditch. To keep safe, they’ve disguised themselves as “experimental dance-rock”, “rock and roll”, “dance folk”, and “music for people who see in color”. But you know what these are:
Lies. All lies.
